- San Diego's an underdog of a town, always struggling in the shadow of Los Angeles to tell the world how wonderful they are. Some years ago, they came up with the stupidest city slogan on the planet, America's Finest City. Now the San Diego Union-Tribune, which views its journalistic role as town cheerleader half the time, has launched, "America's Finest Blog." I could just puke.
